The food was amazing although small portions. The service was ok but not great. I still would go back for the food.
The food is always fresh, delicious and plated beautifully. Everything is excellent quality and priced accordingly, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. Highly recommended!!
Hosted our wedding reception on October 6, 2017 at The City Grill. The entire experience was fantastic! Tanya was such a huge help and so organized with making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The night of, the food was amazing and the service was stellar. The dj had the dance floor packed with his music, and I am still getting compliments on everything to do with the meal and the beautiful venue. I can not sing their praises enough for how great everyone involved was.
Dualling pianos was fun service was just okay. Food was good.
We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding ceremony and reception at The City Grill Event Centre this Spring and are so very happy and grateful for our experience. The setting itself was exactly what we were looking for--wanting to stay away from the traditional venues of the city, we appreciated the modern, urban appeal City Grill has come to cultivate. Their contemporary vibe is one that can surely embrace any theme, from simple to extravagant yet it was their open-concept, chic design that attracted us instantly as a space that can stand on it's own without the help of outside decor. This instantly eliminated any stress associated with probable future design plans most would spend countless hours and dollars perfecting for their special day. We were pleased to find The City Grill to be a one-stop-shop, able to organize and provide services we likely would have had to outsource had we chosen another event centre including DJ, security and valet to name a few. The convenience of being able to have several services on one invoice from one business made the process of wedding planning a breeze, having way less to keep track of, especially with Tanya ensuring no detail was left undiscussed.Tanya Hedrick, event manager at The City Grill, may be experiencing a constant ringing in her ears and we do apologize because it is certainly a result of us being unable to stop speaking about her devotion, hospitality, professionlism and grace. From our first meeting her honest, focused approach sparked an instant connection, making us feel completely safe putting our event in her hands. She made the task of arranging a wedding easier than we could have ever imagined, always being pro-active with setting up meetings, sending emails, making phone calls, confirming details, aiding vendors and handling anything potentially problematic before we even knew about it --truly, the wedding planner we never knew we were getting nor could we ever thank enough. She runs an energetic, charming, accomodating team, that wholeheartedly embodies the "It's Your Day" motto, encouraging you to never hesitate on a request that enhances your experience. Guests specifically raved about staff member Eric who single-handedly made our own dinner experience the delight it was, leaving us as undisturbed as possible often doing things unprompted, displaying the poise and professionalism of a total gentleman throughout the night, ensuring not only us but no guest went without. One specific example involved preventing a guest's sport jacket being damaged by insisting on removing the soiled spot himself using supplies on hand and suggesting the bill be sent to City Grill if they found a need for further care. (Wow!) Deanna is someone we were told approached all tasks with extreme enthusiasm and friendliness, always having the biggest smile on her face, leaving her tables in a chipper mood with her bright presence. Connor at the main bar's youthful energy and easy-going appeal had our guests feeling they were not only visiting the bar to indulge in beautifully crafted beverages by a knowledgeable pour but visiting with an old friend who wanted to make everyone's time spent at The City Grill fun above all else. Chef Dan and team delivered a delectable dining experience that is still being talked about and will be for years to come. We were extremely impressed with the care that went into preparing and serving our reception meal and late-night buffet. No dietary concerns were left unvisited, any guest with specific needs was catered to without hesitation and several courses were delivered in a timely manner, especially when considering the busy atmosphere of a 200 person party with two floors to cover. The quality of food accompanied by such beautiful presentation echoed an exquisiteness that could only be produced by those who love and are passionate about what they do. It is our opinion and that of many guests it was the best meal we have ever been served at a wedding to date. Thank You City Grill & Staff !!
